Working with the Friends of Kettlesing Felliscliffe Primary School, the parents, staff and children have worked hard to create the community play field within this rural village and hold a yearly community garden party for everyone to enjoy. Kettlesing Pre-School boasts a spacious, airy room and a secure outdoor learning environment
Kettlesing Pre-School has a bright and spacious classroom that overlooks the beautiful countryside. The conservatory doors open wide onto a large outdoor area which has a soft surfaced playing zone with outdoor swing and climbing facilities to offer challenge safely. The grassed area, which surrounds it, allows our children t0 explore, at first hand, the nature which envelops them.
There are large wooden planters for our children to grow their own herbs, vegetables and fruit in to promote healthy eating, whilst being encouraged to recycle by composting the suitable remains.
The ‘mud kitchen’ allows for messy play and our musical area allows for noisy play, as the children crash and bang the recycled pots and pans. Alternatively, hunt for dinosaurs or dig for treasure in the gravel pit.
Inside is specially designed to cater for the development and learning needs of our youngest children. With play at the heart of our educational ethos, this child centred room promotes independent choice and individual learning. Our varied learning programme also includes, yoga, cooking, Spanish, phonics and ‘Wake Up Shake Up’ sessions.
Healthy food to feed enquiring minds and busy hands
Our on-site kitchen prepares fresh, nutritious meals and snacks daily, taking into account any dietary requirements our children may have.
Throughout the day, breakfast, lunch and afternoon, tea alongside healthy, mid-morning/afternoon snacks, are available. A packed lunch can be brought should your child prefer this. Fresh water is always available and milk is served at snack times through the ‘Cool Milk’ scheme.
There is a three week rolling two-course lunch menu, which is changed each term. Children have the option to select from a hot meal, sandwich or jacket potato with a choice of desserts or fresh fruit also.
